Important information for affiliates
When linking to our website e.g. by implementing banners, please make sure that these banners do not show up on every single page of your website unless you add certain attributes. We have had several occasions in the past where affiliates placed a banner that resulted in 1000+ links. Such excessive link building is harmful to your and our website.
The best way to avoid this is by making sure that the links only occur on specific pages where you want them to show up. If you still wish to place affiliate links on most of your subpages, please make sure to either use a “sponsored“ or “nofollow“ rel-attribute in the <a>-tag.
Further information on how to implement this can be found here and general information on the matter can be found here.
How do I use the links and banners to earn commission?
First of all, open the banner and link the library. (If you don’t know where to find them click here)
To filter for the media you are looking for you can type in the name of the product and you will see all the material given for this product. Additionally, you can tick the banner type box if you just want banners for your blog or a link for social media.
Don’t forget to press the “Apply” button to filter.
As an example, let’s say you made a review of our Virtual Guitarist IRON on YouTube and you want to publish your affiliate link in the infobox.
Using the filter you will see the following result:
The link presented in the center is your affiliate link to promote IRON.
You can also click on “Get banner code” to copy it.
We recommend using a link shortener like “bit.ly” before publishing the link. On the one hand you can track clicks and on the other hand, it just looks cleaner and nicer than such a long link with all your affiliate parameters.
How does it work for image banners?
It’s the same procedure for banners. You will receive a code that you can embed in the HTML of your website.
Short Anchor Linking
The other option we support is to use short anchor links. It’s very simple, you can use any landing page from our website (depends on which plugin you want to promote) and just add a hashtag with your referral ID at the end, it would look like this:
ujam.com/iron/#referralid
How do I earn a commission with that?
The link you get is as unique as you are. If someone clicks on a UJAM banner or an affiliate link and buys one of our products there will be a cookie placed on the buyer’s browser which will tell us that you were the source this person came from. So if you convinced somebody to buy from us and this person was using your link, you will earn commission!
Because we have a 90 days cookie duration the user doesn’t have to buy immediately. Even if he or she is coming back to our website 50 days after clicking on your link and makes a purchase in our shop – you will earn a commission (Given the person has not deleted their cookies in the meantime).
