Virtual Drummer 2.1 is here! We get some questions regarding the update that we will include in the following FAQ:
Do I need to pay for the update?
No, if you own version 2, the update is completely free of charge! In case you are still running on version 1, you need to upgrade to version 2.1, but we got affordable upgrade options available for you!
Why do I need to download the full product if there are just a few new features?
We’re currently working on an updater / update manager that makes partial downloads possible, but unfortunately you’ll need to download the full version of the plug-in for now.
Where can I download the update?
Just download the new build under ''my account'' on our website. The new build will easily overwrite your old version. Don't worry about losing project data, everything will be right there as it should.
How can I go back to version 2.0?
You can download the installer files from ►OneDrive.
I updated my plug-in and now it crashes the DAW. What do I do?
Sometimes files of an older plug-in version are somewhere on the computer and interfere with the newer version. Please try to manually remove all the plug-in files from your system, restart it and run a fresh installation of the plug-in.
Make sure to use the new content file (blob file) of the plug-in. If the plug-in uses the "old" 2.0 blob file by mistake, it will crash.

What is new?
Check out the updates in this quick overview video or take a look at the feature list below:
1. Resizable User-Interface
With the 2.1 updates, Virtual Drummer user interfaces are resizable to fit on small
screens. To resize, either click the “window” icon next to the notification bell in
the top right corner or simply drag the three stripes in the bottom right corner of
the user interface.
2. DAW Player Sync
You can now quantize the Virtual Drummer player to match the playback, this setting
can be found in the micro timing overlay. Quantize to the current grid, 1/4, 1/8,
or 1/16 notes. This new feature keeps the Virtual Drummer always in sync with the
DAW timing position to make sure you have the phrase in time and on the right
beat.
3. Presonus Key Switches
With the new Virtual Drummer 2.1 update, we will provide Studio One users running on version 4.6.2 or later with an exclusive PreSonus Keyboard highlighting feature!
Descriptions of styles and phrases are displayed on the piano roll to help you find the right styles and phrases faster and easier for your track. The play range and the style/common phrases are divided in red (general key switches) and blue (play range) on the piano roll.
