Set up and use UJAM plugins in Pro Tools

❗️Important information

Currently, not all UJAM plugins do run natively on AAX with Apple Silicon chips. However, you can still use them by opening Pro Tools in Rosetta mode. Here's how to do that:

  1. Close Pro Tools if it's currently running.
  2. Locate the Pro Tools application in your Applications folder.
  3. Right-click (or Control-click) on the Pro Tools application and select "Get Info."
  4. In the "Get Info" window, you will see an option labeled "Open using Rosetta." Check the box next to it.
  5. Close the "Get Info" window and launch Pro Tools.
 
After following these steps, Pro Tools will run using Rosetta, which should allow our plugin to show up and function correctly.

 

Here's how the initial set up of UJAM instruments works in Pro Tools.

 

At first please make sure that you have installed the plugin. You will then find the AAX file in this location:

OSX - {SYSDRIVE}:/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
Win 32-bit - {SYSDRIVE}:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
Win 64-bit - {SYSDRIVE}:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

Note: If you use a custom AAX folder you’ll have to move the file there manually.

 

In your DAW:

  • Create a new Stereo instrument track:

  • Select the track and load your UJAM plugin as a multichannel plug-in:

  • Please note that this workflow doesn't apply to a Mono channel or as a multi mono plug-in.
