VST 3 Support
- If you are using the latest Cubase version and a Mac with an Apple Silicon chip (M1/M2/M3), you should be aware that you can only use VST3 plug-ins.
-
Not all UJAM plug-ins are available in VST3 format.
- Mac users can still use VST2 when running Cubase in Rosetta mode: How to start your DAW using Rosetta | macOS
-
Of course we are working on providing VST3 support for all our products.

Compatibility
ℹ️ Please note that UJAM plugins are not compatible with Cubase 9 or other legacy versions. In that case, please update your DAW to the latest Cubase version.
MIDI Drag and Drop
- When you use MIDI drag & drop in Cubase, a second additional track is added.
- This has to do with Cubase's internal MIDI handling and cannot be bypassed.
- You can simply ignore or delete the unwanted MIDI channel.
How to Rescan Plug-ins in Cubase
- Make sure your UJAM plug-in is installed in order to run properly, please check if that’s the case.
- Go to Plugin Manager > Plugin path settings.
Use the Plugin Manager and add the folder for your plugin files. Here's the default VST path:
- Go to Plugin Manager > Plugin path settings.
Windows
VST2 |
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\VSTPlugIns\UJAM\
|
VST3 |
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
|
macOS
VST2 |
Macintosh HD:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/UJAM/ |
VST3 |
Macintosh HD:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ |
- On the right top of this window, you will see a “refresh” icon:
- Pressing this icon will rescan all VST folders and add new plug-ins to the list. Newly scanned plugins will appear at the Plug-in Manager.
- Now add a new instrument track and you're good to go!
Additional Troubleshooting
If the re-scan couldn't help, you'll need to re-set the VST blacklist file manually.
Re-setting the Cubase plug-in Blacklist manually:
macOS
1. Navigate to -> Macintosh HD/Users/<your username>/Library/Preferences/Cubase <version>/
(Note: If you can't find the ''Library'', here is an article that will show you how to access in hidden folders: https://support.ujam.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011319200)
2.Delete these files:
- Vst2xBlacklist Cubase (x86_64).xml
- Vst2xBlacklist Cubase.xml
3. Re-open Cubase
Windows
1. Navigate to -> Boot drive:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase <version>\
(Note: If you can't find the ''AppData'' folder, here is an article that will show you how to access in hidden folders: https://support.ujam.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011319200)
2. Delete the file -> Vst2xBlacklist Cubase.xml
3. Re-open Cubase
Your plug-in/plug-ins should’ve now been scanned successfully. Enjoy making music!
