Grace Period for UJAM Software Purchases
Effective Date: July 10, 2025
1. Purpose
At UJAM, we are committed to customer satisfaction and product value. This Grace Period Policy ("Policy") is designed to provide a fair and transparent process for customers who have recently purchased a UJAM software product ("Product") immediately prior to a paid new version release or the addition of a new Product to a purchased bundle. It outlines the eligibility criteria, conditions, and procedures for receiving a complimentary (free) copy of the newly released Product.
2. Key Definitions
To ensure clarity, the following terms are defined for the purpose of this Policy:
- Grace Period: A specific, fixed period of time immediately preceding a New Release, during which a Qualifying Purchase makes a customer eligible for a complimentary Product.
- Qualifying Purchase: The purchase of a full, perpetual license for a UJAM Product at a standard retail price or an official sale price.
-
New Release: Refers to two specific scenarios:
- A paid major version Update of an individual Product (e.g., Virtual Guitarist SPARKLE 2 upgrading to SPARKLE 3).
- The Addition of a new, distinct Product to an existing UJAM bundle (e.g., a new Beatmaker being added to the Music Creation Suite).
- Authorized Reseller: A third-party vendor officially recognized and authorized by UJAM to sell our software licenses.
- Proof of Purchase: An official receipt or order confirmation email that clearly indicates the Product purchased, the date of purchase, the price paid, and the vendor (UJAM or an Authorized Reseller).
3. Policy Conditions and Timeframes
Eligibility for a complimentary New Release is strictly determined by the date of a Qualifying Purchase. The following two scenarios apply:
-
Scenario A: Individual Product Upgrades and Promotions
- If you purchase a specific UJAM plug-in and a paid upgrade becomes available or product is offered by UJAM as a free promotion, your purchase date must be within the fourteen (14) calendar days immediately prior to the official release date of the new version.
- Example: UJAM releases "Virtual Percussionist TRIANGLE 2" or starts a free promotion on August 1, 2025. To be eligible, you must have purchased "Virtual Percussionist TRIANGLE 1" between July 18, 2025, and July 31, 2025. A purchase made on July 17, 2025, or earlier would not be eligible.
-
Scenario B: New Product Release
- If you purchase a UJAM bundle (e.g., Music Creation Suite, Beatmaker Bundle) to which a new plug-in is subsequently added, your purchase date must be within the thirty (30) calendar days immediately prior to the official release date of that new plug-in.
- Example: UJAM releases a new Beatmaker title which is then added to the Music Creation Suite on September 1, 2025. To be eligible to receive the new Beatmaker title for free, you must have purchased the Music Creation Suite between August 2, 2025, and August 31, 2025.
4. Redemption Process and Customer Obligations
The issuance of a complimentary New Release is not automatic. Eligible customers must proactively submit a request to our support team.
- Claim Submission Window: You must submit your request within thirty (30) calendar days following the official release date of the New Release. Requests submitted after this window will not be considered.
- Required Documentation: Your request must include valid Proof of Purchase. Our support team may require your order number, a copy of your receipt, and the email address associated with your UJAM account.
- How to Submit a Request: All grace period claims must be formally submitted by contacting our support team via the "Submit a Request" link on our official support portal.
- Verification and Fulfillment: Upon receipt of your request and valid Proof of Purchase, our team will verify your eligibility. Once confirmed, the new Product will be manually added to your UJAM user account. Please allow for reasonable processing time.
5. Exclusions and Limitations
This Policy does not apply to:
- Bundles with a significant price increase from the addition of a new product.
- Products obtained for free, as Not-For-Resale (NFR) licenses, or through unofficial giveaways.
- Licenses that have been transferred, sold, or purchased second-hand.
- Minor updates (e.g., bug fixes, maintenance patches). The policy is for paid major version updates only.
- Discontinued Products.
6. Policy Modification and Governance
UJAM GmbH reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue this Policy at its sole discretion and at any time without prior notice. However, any changes made to the Policy will not retroactively affect the eligibility of Qualifying Purchases made while the previous version of the Policy was in effect.
For any questions or clarification regarding this Policy, please contact our support team.
