Subcraft was created to take the guesswork out of mixing sub-bass. We’ve engineered every bass tone to maintain its power and clarity, allowing producers to focus on creativity rather than endlessly tweaking their low end. See the Subcraft product page for more info & audio examples.
To help you get started with Subcraft, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.
How can I try Subcraft?
- A free trial is available from our our trial page. Subcraft is installed by the UJAM App - simply click "Start Trial" or "Install" to get started.
Why is installation failing?
- Are you seeing an error message like this?
- This error typically indicates something is preventing silent install. To resolve the issue please temporarily deactivate 'Silent Plugin Installation' (found in the UJAM App's settings) then try installing again.
Where can I find the user guide?
- See the pdf online.
- Click the "Manual" link for Subcraft in the UJAM App.
- Click the "Read User Manual" button in the Subcraft plug-in's "About" section.
What is playable range of notes in Subcraft?
- The keys/pitches for Subcraft are A2 to A4 (shown as dots arranged like a keyboard in the lower right).
- Note that different DAWs have their own definition of "Middle C" so you might need to transpose your MIDI notes to align correctly.
How do I just trigger the Kick or the glides/note bends?
- These are the 4 buttons labelled "Pitches" in the lower middle. F2-G2 used in combination with a note trigger will bend the note (the effect is based on the selected Style). G#2 triggers the kick.
Where can I find video content?
- Check out the Subcraft videos on UJAM's Youtube channel.
Can I load my own samples into Subcraft?
- No, importing custom samples into Subcraft is not possible.
- Subcraft includes its own sample content.
Where is the sample content stored?
- UJAM plug-ins have sample content stored in .blob files. For SUBCRAFT, these are not store in the usual default file location. They can be found in:
macOS: /Library/Application Support/UJAM/SUBCRAFT/assets/packages/SUBCRAFT/products/SUBCRAFT/
Windows: %SYSTEMDRIVE%\ProgramData\UJAM\assets\packages\SUBCRAFT\products\SUBCRAFT\
- Important: The .blob files for SUBCRAFT need to remain in their default location (the plug-in will not work if they are relocated).
Does Subcraft support Direct MIDI Output?
- Subcraft supports Direct MIDI Out, which allows you to send the MIDI data from the plug-in to other MIDI instruments or tracks.
- Subcraft also supports MIDI drag and drop, giving you the option to create MIDI clips from the phrases to quickly arrange your songs.
- See How to use MIDI Drag & Drop for more info.
I bought Subcraft from a reseller. How can I redeem my code?
- If you received a coupon code (sometimes referred to as "serial number" or "license code") please see our Partner Shop Purchase article.
- You can check the products redeemed in your UJAM Account.
How can I authorize Subcraft?
- See our Authorization Issues article for more info.
What should I do if my trial time expires before I can use it?
- See our Expired Trial Time article.
I installed Subcraft but I can't find it in my DAW.
- Try to rescan your plugins. Click here for instructions for various DAWs.
Will Subcraft work on my computer?

Are there any known issues?
Below are the known issues (with workaround where possible).
- If the terrain handle is moved to the outermost upper or lower right or left corners, hover state can stop working. (Workaround: don't move the cursor outside of the terrain's boundaries.)
- Automation can’t be written in the DAW by moving terrain handle.
- Terrain handle can’t be assigned via MIDI CC.
- Switching between some FX modes while playback is running can cause clicks.
- Subcraft can get out of sync when doing DAW tempo changes with latched playback running.
- Installation of content (or manually relocating it) to an alternative location is not possible.
