Some users asked us whether they can use E-Drums to trigger sounds in Virtual Drummer. The answer is a loud and proud yes, BUT it probably takes a few configurations and changes in your drum kit.
John Winters from Hidden Level Audio got his hands on the all-new Virtual Drummer BRUTE for an in-depth review. He engineered and routed the session and his buddy Richie played the drums. “We used a Roland TD7 as the drum brain and I had to re-route some of the MIDI notes to line up with BRUTE. It worked out pretty well.”, John told us.
In this video below, he explains how to map the MIDI notes from his Roland TD7 through Pro Tools to trigger the instruments of BRUTE. As you can see in the video, mapping the MIDI notes has to be done within the MIDI drum kit instead of the plug-in.
