An update is ready to install?
Some users reported getting a particular update notification multiple times a day.
Here's what you need to do when an update is available:
- Please enter your credentials when asked in order to give permission for the update. The form usually looks like this:
- Next, click on "Update now" to proceed and execute the update:
Further Troubleshooting
In case the update notification still persists after the update: this message might still pop up, when the ownership of the UJAM app on the system is incorrect.
How to check the ownership
- Go to Applications > UJAM
- Right-click the App and select ‘Get Info‘:
- Check the permissions. If it looks like this and your username doesn't show up, the ownership is incorrect needs to be fixed:
Option 1: How to fix via Sharing & Permission settings
- Go to Applications > UJAM
- Right-click the App and select ‘Get Info‘:
- Click on the tiny lock and unlock it in order to make changes. You will be asked to enter your system password.
- Afterwards, click on the tiny plus icon:
- Next, add your user account and add ‘Read and Write‘ privileges:
- Now you should be good to go!
Option 2: How to fix via Terminal
- Open the Terminal (Spotlight search ‘Terminal‘):
- Now paste the following command:
sudo chown -R "$USER":staff /Applications/UJAM.app
- You will be asked to enter you system password. Enter it.
- Go to Applications > UJAM
- Right-click the App and select ‘Get Info‘:
- Now check the app permissions again
- You should now see your username displayed in the permissions field. Done!

- Please try to click on "Don't Allow" UJAM notifications:
