To ensure that we continue to provide the best possible performance, security, and support for new products, macOS Big Sur is no longer supported starting with version 1.2.8 of the UJAM App (released in January 2026).
Users with the previous version (1.2.6) will see a pop-up in the UJAM App stating that there is an App Update available that is not compatible with the currently installed OS.
Why have we made this change?
As technology evolves, so do the requirements for software development. Newer macOS versions offer significant advancements in terms of security, performance, and features that are crucial for the ongoing development and optimization of our products. By focusing our development efforts on more recent operating systems, we can deliver a more stable, secure, and feature-rich experience for the majority of our users.
Continuing to support older operating systems can hinder our ability to implement new features, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain the highest security standards.
What does this mean for you?
- Current App Version: UJAM App 1.2.6 will continue to function on macOS Big Sur. However, you will not receive future updates to the App.
- New Product Support: UJAM products and features released after this change may not be accessible or fully functional with an outdated App version on Big Sur.
- Optimal Performance: For the best performance and compatibility with our latest plugins, we highly recommend updating your macOS.
What should you do?
To ensure you can continue to receive all future UJAM App updates, security enhancements, and support for upcoming products, we strongly advise you to update your macOS to a newer version.
For information on how to update your macOS, please refer to Apple's official support documentation.
We understand that updating your operating system can be a significant step, and we encourage you to back up your system before proceeding with any major OS update.
Users that are unable to upgrade their operating system should check the supported OS for their plug-ins, and if still supported can roll back to a compatible UJAM App:
Quick the UJAM App
Launch Activity Monitor (found in Applications > Utilities)
Search for "UJAM"
Quit the main "UJAM" process
Delete the UJAM App in Applications, and ujamapp folder in /Users/*yourusename*/Library/Application Support/ (use the [control] key in the Go menu to get into the user library)
When launching the UJAM App, click "Got it"
See the UJAM App Changelog for complete info on releases. If you have any questions or require further assistance please submit a request to UJAM support.
