Table of Contents

Introduction

At UJAM, we pride ourselves on creating innovative audio tools that seamlessly integrate into various production environments. From creative effects to virtual instruments, our extensive plugin lineup is designed to meet the needs of both casual hobbyists and professional music producers.

UJAM’s Commitment to Compatibility: We understand the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, and that is why we continuously work to ensure our plugins support crucial formats like VST3, and NKS, and complete support for Apple Silicon chips.

• Native support for Apple Silicon: We are actively updating our products to work natively on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, and later chips) across VST2, VST3, AU2, and AAX formats. However, for certain AAX plugins, Pro Tools must still be run in Rosetta Mode until full compatibility is achieved.
• VST3 support: Recognizing the industry shift toward VST3, especially among Steinberg Cubase and NI Maschine users, we have prioritized this format in our development cycle to ensure compatibility.
• NKS integration: Many of our plugins offer integration with Native Instruments' NKS (v1), enabling seamless interaction with their hardware (e.g. Komplete Kontrol, Maschine). While NKS (v2) support is not available yet, this is an area we are continuously exploring.

Plugin Formats, Features, and More

This article will provide an in-depth analysis of every UJAM plugin currently available, covering all the technical details our users need to know. Here are the key elements you’ll find:

1. Operating System Compatibility: Each plugin will be clearly marked with the versions of Windows and macOS it supports. For macOS users, we will also indicate whether the plugin runs natively on Apple Silicon or requires running your DAW in Rosetta Mode.
2. Plugin Formats: You’ll find detailed information about which formats—VST2, VST3, AU2, and AAX—are available for each plugin. This helps users ensure they can run their favorite UJAM plugins on their preferred digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Cubase, Logic Pro, Studio One, Reaper or Pro Tools.

3. Apple Silicon Support: With the growing number of users on Apple’s M1 and M2 chips, native support for Apple Silicon has become a key priority. The sheet we provide will list which plugins currently support Apple Silicon natively, ensuring optimal performance for those using the latest hardware.

Important Note for Pro Tools Users on macOS
Some UJAM AAX plugins are not yet compatible natively with Apple Silicon. To access these plugins, open Pro Tools in Rosetta mode as outlined below. This allows for seamless operation while we continue working toward full compatibility.

How to Open Pro Tools in Rosetta Mode:

   • Close Pro Tools if it’s running.
   • Locate the Pro Tools app in Applications.
   • Right-click and select "Get Info."
   • Check "Open using Rosetta" and close the info window.
   • Launch Pro Tools again.

This setup should allow UJAM plugins to run correctly. Ensure to test using a free trial if uncertain.

UJAM has successfully qualified its products for use on Apple M1 and later chips. However, it is essential to note that while some plugins are fully optimized for native Apple Silicon performance, others still operate through Rosetta, Apple’s emulation mode that enables Intel-based applications to run on Apple Silicon hardware.

To ensure smooth functionality across all UJAM plugins, we recommend opening your DAW in Rosetta Mode, as some plugins require it until full native support is achieved. For those unfamiliar with Rosetta Mode, here’s a quick guide:

   • Starting Your DAW in Rosetta Mode:
     • Navigate to your Applications folder.
     • Right-click (or Control-click) on your DAW application.
     • Select "Get Info" from the dropdown menu.
     • In the "Get Info" window, check the box labeled "Open using Rosetta."
     • Close the window and restart your DAW.

Running your DAW in Rosetta Mode will ensure optimal compatibility with UJAM plugins, allowing a seamless experience while we work towards complete Apple Silicon optimization. As always, we recommend testing each plugin using a free trial version to confirm compatibility with your setup.

4. Short Descriptions: For each plugin, a brief yet informative description will outline the core. functionality and use cases. Whether it’s a Finisher effect designed to add texture to your sound or a Virtual Drummer plugin to fill your rhythm section, users will know exactly what to expect.
5. User Guides & Support Links: To assist users in getting the most out of each plugin, we will link to the respective User Guides and Support Sections. These links will provide step-by-step instructions, setup advice, and troubleshooting tips tailored to each plugin.
