To ensure that we continue to provide the best possible performance, security, and support for new products, macOS Catalina is no longer supported starting with version 1.2 of the UJAM App (released in August 2025).
Users with the previous version (1.1.1) will see a pop-up in the UJAM App stating that there is an App Update available that is not compatible with the currently installed OS.
Why have we made this change?
As technology evolves, so do the requirements for software development. Newer macOS versions offer significant advancements in terms of security, performance, and features that are crucial for the ongoing development and optimization of our products. By focusing our development efforts on more recent operating systems, we can deliver a more stable, secure, and feature-rich experience for the majority of our users.
Continuing to support older operating systems can hinder our ability to implement new features, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain the highest security standards.
What does this mean for you?
- Current App Version: Your current UJAM App (v1.1.1) will continue to function on macOS Catalina. However, you will not receive future updates to the App.
- New Product Support: UJAM products and features released after this change may not be accessible or fully functional with an outdated App version on Catalina, e.g. Usynth 1.4.1 (needed for DUST, VORTEX and WEBCORE) will not work with UJAM App 1.1.1 and Catalina.
- Optimal Performance: For the best performance and compatibility with our latest plugins, we highly recommend updating your macOS.
What should you do?
To ensure you can continue to receive all future UJAM App updates, security enhancements, and support for upcoming products, we strongly advise you to update your macOS to a newer version.
For information on how to update your macOS, please refer to Apple's official support documentation.
We understand that updating your operating system can be a significant step, and we encourage you to back up your system before proceeding with any major OS update.
Users that are unable to upgrade their operating system should check the supported OS for their plug-ins, and if still supported can download the final installer for Catalina here:
See the UJAM App Changelog for complete info on releases. If you have any questions or require further assistance please submit a request to UJAM support.
