We've heard about some Windows users running into issues when updating Usynth to a new version. Sometimes the DAW crashes, blocks the plug-in or won't load it. Also in some cases this error message appears:
The error message JS_EXEC_FAILED usually indicates that Usynth cannot find the correct VST (.dll) file. That can be the case, when there are multiple Usynth VST files on your system, maybe because of a previous installation. The DAW scans the different VST folders and can only handle one .dll file of a kind. Most users were able to successfully install and use the plug-in after following these instructions:
- Please make sure that the location for the VST file in your UJAM App settings is correct and that the folder matches with the VST folder set in your respective DAW, so that the Usynth plugin can find it. While some users are using a custom folder for their VST files, this is the default location:
- You should only have one Usynth VST (.dll) file on your system. Check if something got mixed up, perhaps you have multiple files in your custom VST folder and also in the default download location folder, because of a previous installation?
- Try to remove all your Usynth VST (.dll) files and reinstall Usynth.
- Manually delete all Usynth and UJAM App plugin files from your system and also completely uninstall the UJAM App. This article will help you to do so: Default plugin file locations
- Then, download and install the UJAM App and Usynth by using these direct download links. They load a regular .exe installer file, which should work for your operating system:
- Make sure you have admin access and grant all the requested permissions during the installation process
- Check if your antivirus software or firewall are trying to protect the system by blocking the UJAM App
- You might wanna try turning it off for a few minutes
- Use your main local drive and make sure you have enough disc space available
- Don't use special characters for your download- and VST folder names.
